In this LEGO Fan Designer Spotlight series edition, we look at ABrickDreamer’s LEGO Minifigure Habitats, a fantastic set of builds created to display and highlight the LEGO Minifigure.

The first modern minifigures, released in 1978, were designed by Jens Nygaard Knudsen, who came up with the idea of having interchangeable body parts and the simple facial expression that became synonymous with the LEGO Group. Over the years the LEGO Minifigure, also referred to as a LEGO Figure or Minifig, evolved into having new facial expressions, variations to body parts, and increasing amounts of detail. Today, the Minifig has become as important to LEGO fans and collectors as the sets, which is why we love these Minifigure Habitat displays created by ABrickDreamer.

Each Minifigure Habitat is created on an 8×8 stud base, with equal-sized squares for two adjoining rear sections forming a cutaway of a cube and each, depending on the interior detailing, can be joined in a modular style to create a fun and expressive LEGO Minifigure display.

Imagination and creativity have gone into adding detail to the small blueprint of each habitat without any space feeling wasted or over-designed. Each unique build is created to complement the LEGO Minifigure they are built for, telling a story. These are fun builds that are a pure joy to look at.

A perfect example of the thought that has gone into these builds is the habitat for the LEGO Minifigures Series 27 Wolfpack Beastmaster. The design appears to pay homage to 6075: Wolfpack Tower, with the black tower studded with grey bricks, the bridge across the river, and the tower’s red roof. The green leaves add splashes of colour in carefully planned positions throughout the scene, finishing off the polished build.
