3 Exciting New LEGO Pick a Brick Features In Development
Last weekend, during a panel at Bricktastic in Manchester, the LEGO Pick a Brick team were in attendance to reveal some new part additions arriving in June 2025, as well as three exciting new features heading to the Pick a Brick platform.
LEGO Pick a Brick Search Updates
The first of the new features is a new search system which will allow parts to be searched for using tags. Searching for ‘horse’ will bring through… horses, of course, as well as any other related item, such as the wig piece shown in the example.

Printed parts will also be easier to find. Searching for ‘smile’ for example, will show all Minifigure faces with smiling expressions, likewise a search for ‘vinyl’, will bring through the printed 2×2 round plate. The new LEGO Pick a Brick feature will also allow for tags to be combined with another field, such as colour. For example, searching for ‘orange legs’, returns all of the Minifigure and Minidoll legs in the colour orange.

LEGO Pick a Brick will also be optimised for semantic searches. Semantic search uses artificial intelligence (AI) to process and understand the full meaning and intent of language used in search queries, similar to the way a human would. Specifically, machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP). Utilising this technology will allow natural search terms to be used within LGO Pick a Brick. The search term in the example was ‘Desserts, and the results include ice-creams, cakes, and a dish. If implemented well, this will be a welcome feature to the platform.

The next new LEGO Pick a Brick feature will be a big help for anyone scrolling through the long part list. Once live, the platform will no longer produce a list of every colour for individual parts and will instead group them into a single listing. This will dramatically reduce the list of parts presented in a search, saving on the time spent scrolling through lists. It will, however, mean that adding the parts to your basket will no longer be possible in the search screen itself. The images provided are, at this stage, just mock ups of the platform, which is still in development, so we will make sure to share any updates when they are available.

You can of course still save yourself time by uploading a parts list to the Pick a Brick platform. If you’re not sure how to upload a parts list, make sure to use our helpful guide.
Minifigure Creator
The final reveal is an exciting new Minifigure Creator feature. Like the Minifigure Factory on the US and Canda’s LEGO sites, users will be able to create up to 40 Minifigures using the host of available parts. In the examples shown, each part will be grouped in the standard categories of head, torso, legs, headwear and accessories, and then again by price. There is also an option to duplicate any Minifigure created.

The Minifigure Creator will be trialled in the UK later this year.
