LEGO Ideas Announces New ‘Parking Lot’ Review Status

LEGO Ideas has announced that a new Parking Lot will be used for 10k Club Product Ideas that need additional review time outside of the regular review phase window.

Although the LEGO Ideas blog post didn’t detail specifics, it noted a “whole host of reasons” why a Product Idea might need additional review time before a decision can be made. Any Product Idea that the LEGO Ideas review team feel needs some further thought or cannot be immediately approved will be moved to the Parking Lot rather than facing a rejection.

LEGO Ideas stated: “The Parking Lot will be particularly useful when we come across a strong Product Idea, where one particular aspect (such as timing) could mean that it doesn’t get approved. Previously, a creator would then need to resubmit the idea and reach 10k all over again. Moving forward, we’ll be able to ‘park’ these specific submissions in the Parking Lot and see if we can still make it happen.

LEGO Ideas has confirmed that only a limited number of projects can be in the Parking Lot at any one time, with each project having a maximum of three review periods. This means a Product Idea could be in the review phase for well over a year, although the hope is that the time will be much shorter.

LEGO Ideas hopes the Parking Lot will give strong submissions more time to succeed. There are no further changes planned for the LEGO Ideas review process.
