2 New Japan Inspired LEGO Botanicals Sets Releasing in June 2025 To Add Some Zen and Cuteness to Your Collection

Today, the LEGO Group revealed two new Japanese-inspired additions to their LEGO Botanicals theme: 10348: LEGO Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree and 10349: LEGO Happy Plants.

10348: LEGO Botanicals Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree 

LEGO is revisiting its Bonsai tree collection with the Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree set, now available for pre-order from LEGO.com.

The Japanese Red Maple, also known as the Deshojo Maple, is a type of Acer known for its striking, scarlet leaves and dramatic appearance. The Red Maple is a popular tree used in the art of Bonsai due to the interest that its deciduous nature brings to the tree throughout the year, with leaves that unfurl in spring, turn green in summer and their iconic scarlet in the autumn. The Acer bonsai tree represents grace, peace, serenity, strength, endurance, honour and love.

LEGO has focused on the final phase of the Deshojo Maple with its red leaves on display. Unlike the trees in a certain Middle-Earth inspired set that we could mention, the botanicals designer has captured the tree’s dramatic shapes perfectly. Although the orange leaves wouldn’t have been our first colour choice for the Red Maple, everything blends together well.

10349: LEGO Botanicals Happy Plants

Based on the Japanese Kawaii Planter, Happy Plants is the second new LEGO Botanicals set that is now available for pre-order.

A “Kawaii Planter” is a plant pot or planter designed with a cute and appealing aesthetic inspired by the Japanese concept of “kawaii” (cute). These planters often feature playful shapes, bright colours, and whimsical designs like animals, cartoon characters, or other endearing motifs.

The LEGO Group’s designs have captured the Kawaii Planter’s charm with two cute character planters. Everything about these planters was designed to give you a smile. The colour choices are bright and cheerful, contrasting perfectly with the dark green of the interchangeable dracaena and pilea plug plants. The faces, too, are interchangeable.
